Breast Cancer Ireland

The Engine Room collaborates with Breast Cancer Ireland on their advertising campaign strategy and key strategic partnerships throughout the year. A standout example of their success is the 2023 media campaign for the Very Pink Run, which generated a media value of over €500K. As part of our role, The Engine Room managed media buying and planning for the Very Pink Run—an annual fundraiser held in Dublin, Kilkenny, and Cork—ensuring the campaign effectively targets both urban and rural communities.

Our expertise on this event spans campaign strategy, planning, and execution across multiple channels, including TV, radio, OOH, print, and digital. A significant focus was placed on digital advertising, where we also identify target audiences and implemented programmatic and native campaigns. Additionally, The Engine Room played a crucial role in monitoring and optimising campaigns, making real-time adjustments to enhance performance.

Our partnership with Breast Cancer Ireland extends beyond the Very Pink Run, encompassing other key initiatives such as the ‘Face Up to Cancer’ campaign, where we  collaborated with Breast Cancer Ireland, the Marie Keating Foundation, and Breakthrough Cancer Research. For this campaign, The Engine Room not only managed a nationwide advertising campaign but also worked closely with PR consultants to maximise interview and advertorial opportunities.

Beyond traditional advertising, we also focus on strategic brand partnerships, identifying opportunities that align with Breast Cancer Ireland’s mission. A prime example is the rollout of ‘pink’ coffee cups at Butler’s Coffee shops, strategically timed to coincide with the Very Pink Run and Breast Cancer Awareness Month, further amplifying awareness and engagement.

We expertly executed multi-channel media campaigns for the events driving string success!
